Stacey A. Hawkins

Director, Research and Evaluation

Stacey (she/her/elle) BA, MA, CPG, CRP, PhD(c),is a Gerontologist and an Evaluator who leads our health research and evaluation portfolio. She supports various program and project-work with the team, employing her skills in strategic planning, policy development, grant-writing, program development/planning, research, evaluation, and communications. She serves as the Regional Manager for the Geriatric Emergency Management (GEM) Nurse Program, and the lead for Primary Care Memory Services in the Central East. Stacey previously managed the MINT Memory Clinic at the Community Health Centres of Northumberland. Stacey also supports program and team-based development work in the Network, including competency-based, continuing professional development, knowledge transfer, and performance analytics.


Stacey participates on a number of national, provincial, and regional committees, as well as various geriatric-oriented communities of practice. Stacey’s previous professional work was in the community and social services sectors, working with older adults experiencing complex, functional challenges, including vision loss, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. 


Stacey is an Adjunct Professor at Ontario Tech University. She is completing her PhD in the Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University, and is enrolled in the Health Services Management Program at Toronto Metropolitan University. Stacey is a graduate of Mcmaster University (MA Health & Aging), Wilfrid Laurier University (BA Hons. Religious and Cultural Studies), Loyalist College (Public Relations), and George Brown College (Garden Design). Stacey is a former Interdisciplinary Frailty Fellow with the Canadian Frailty Network (CFN). 


Her primary research interests examine how clinicians facilitate clinical decision-making and goal-setting with persons with dementia. Stacey is an impassioned advocate for persons with dementia and older adults. Her strong focus on equity and social justice continue to drive her work.
