Nancy Veloso

Nancy is the Director for Medicine, Senior’s Health and Transitional Care at Scarborough Health Network.  She is passionate about serving patients across their care journey in her role by providing strategic oversight and operational accountability for inpatient acute care, restorative rehabilitation, transitional care, and ambulatory care with a strong interest in the care of seniors.  Nancy is committed to promoting and embracing quality improvement with a strong focus on innovative approaches to quality and safe healthcare and is inspired by cultivating new partnerships to work collaboratively in delivering care with primary care, community partners and long-term care providers. She has experience in developing and leading specialized senior care services across the continuum of care including geriatric consultation services, reactivation models in hospital and the community, and GAIN geriatric clinics. 

 

Nancy is passionate about education and has continued to build upon her Masters Degree in Social Work in areas of LEAN healthcare programs and leadership certification from the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto. She enjoys learning and sharing with other through regional and provincial conference presentations and consulting with regional task groups on the topics of patient flow, senior’s care and transitional care models.

 

Family is the centre of Nancy’s inspiration that is continuously fueled by her dynamic teenage sons and husband.
