Jennifer Burns West joined Haliburton Highlands Health Services in September 2023 as the Vice President of Clinical and Community Programs and Chief Nursing Executive. With over 30 years of healthcare experience, Jennifer brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong passion for patient care to her role.

Before joining Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Jennifer held progressive leadership positions at Ross Memorial Hospital, most recently as the Director of Surgical Services, Obstetrics, Dialysis, and Pharmacy. Throughout her career, Jennifer has excelled in various clinical roles across tertiary, community, and educational settings with a strong focus on critical care and education, and a commitment to patient- and family-centered care.

A firm believer in leadership through action, Jennifer is dedicated to healthcare advocacy and improving access to care. She is particularly passionate about optimizing technology to enhance service delivery. Jennifer played a key role in leading the COVID-19 vaccination response in Kawartha Lakes and was instrumental in the development of a Women’s Clinic that provides critical access to cancer screening. More recently, she has worked to revitalize care options for residents of Haliburton, including the introduction of green care farms as a unique healthcare offering for the community.
