Gillian is the CEO of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region (ASDR). Previously, Gillian was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at ASDR as the Director of Clinical Services, and held this role and other leadership positions at the agency since 2019. Gillian brings over 12 years of experience as a registered Occupational Therapist, having graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 2010. Prior to advancing into leadership roles, Gillian worked with VHA Home Health as a community-based OT and Geriatric Clinical Lead. She has also held roles with Central East Home and Community Care Support Services (formerly CE-LHIN).

 

Gillian is an enthusiastic and innovative community leader with expertise in program development and service delivery, client engagement, and is a strong advocate for individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Gillian lends her knowledge and expertise in community dementia supports as a member of several working groups within SGS-East and the local Durham OHT.

 

Gillian is actively involved in her home community of Newcastle where she lives with her spouse and 2 daughters and is currently Co-chair of the Newcastle Community Improvement Plan Committee.
